In 1980, Teddy Kennedy ran against Jimmy Carter - and lost in the primaries.
In 1988, Michael Dukakis Ran against George Bush Sr and lost. By the way, John F Kerry was the Lieutenent Governor of Massachusetts at the time.
In 1992, Paul Tsongas ran against Clinton, and lost in the primaries.

All were Great Society, ultra liberal, big government, tax and spend Democrats.

2004, John F Kerry runs against George Bush the Junior for President.

J.F. Kerry's record is that of a Great Society, ultra liberal, big government, tax and spend Democrat.

Just as President Bush's history been scrutinized from every angle, so will Mr Kerry's history be looked at from every angle.

Can he survive such scrutiny?

Bblight,

The Dems are doing everything to "makeover" the candidate into something he is not. I give them kudos for the great job they did restraining the nut jobs at the convention. I looked at some of the platform b.s. and it looked like the Republicans platform!...support for the Patriot Act!!....increasing military strength, CIA funding...unreal!! You didn't hear anything about pulling out from Iraq or gay marriage.

Keep the faith...there's a long way to go and we're just getting cranked up.

Send..actually John Kerry being steady as a weather vane, adopted GW position on the war during the convention. So if your anti war there is only one clear choice Ralph Nader.

Funny out of the above politicians listed Kerry is left of all of them.
